"Mantra" means mystical sound vibrations, sound that outshines the material world. It does not originate in the material world; it originates in the Kingdom of God and descends to the material platform without losing any spiritual power. The word "mantra" is derived from two Sanskrit words. The first is "manas" or "mind. The second syllable is drawn from the Sanskrit word "trai" meaning to "protect" or to "free from." Therefore, the word mantra in its most literal sense means, "to free from the mind." Mantra is, at its core, a tool used by the mind that eventually frees one from the distractions of the mind. Mantras when recited produce a powerful vibration that corresponds to a specific spiritual energy. Sounds which have no direct translation but which contain great power that can be “grown” from it are called "seed mantras." Seed in Sanskrit is called "Bijam" or Beez in the singular and "Bija" in the plural form. There are several beez mantra for different deities like mantra "Shrim" or Shreem is the seed mantra of Maa Lakshmi for the principle of abundance If one recite one mala (108 times) of beez mantra "shrim" that person definitely increases his or her ability to accumulate abundance. If one recites "shrim" a thousand times, the more benefits will be achieved. Mantra can be recited in the mind, by whispering (Movement of lips without clear voice) or by speaking. The manta is usually recited with the help of a bead garland consisting of 108 beads. The dedicated use of mantra can dig into subconscious thoughts stored in the organs and glands and transform these bodily parts into sanctuaries of peace. In holydrops.com various mantras in Hindi are provided along with English for better pronunciation and understanding.
